Union City, NJ Woman Caught On Tape Staging Her Own Accident

Victoria Colon was employed by the Union City, NJ Target store.  NJ.COM reports that in an effort to collect worker's comp. she staged an "accident" in a storeroom... but she forgot about the security camera in the storeroom.  The article reports that:

"Colon was employed in the customer service area at the North Bergen Target on June 2 when she claimed a box she was carrying hit the edge of a shelf and boxes fell off the shelves and struck her head, neck and back and even caused her to vomit, authorities said."

Colon has been charged with a crime and her trial is still several months away.


A Jury Awards $4.2M In 2004 Warehouse Forklift Death

In 2004 James Wilkerson was seriously injured when the braking system failed in the forklift he was operating.  He died of complications from his injuries in 2009.

This report comes from an article in the CourierPostOnline.com (read the article here).  The article reports:

"Wilkerson, then 47, was operating a forklift-type vehicle in a warehouse when the electronic braking control failed, causing his vehicle to hit a steel shelving rack, according to Feldman. The worker suffered 'massive' abdominal injuries when he was crushed against the rack, the attorneys said."
