Free "How Do You Know?" Workplace Electrical Safety Program

The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFi) has announced the introduction of  How Do You Know?, a new workplace electrical safety awareness program developed by ESFi to help employers answer the question, "How do you know if your workplace is properly protected from electrical hazards?"

The "How Do You Know?" set of videos and self-assessment questionnaire are freely available on the ESFi's website at: http://esfi.org/index.cfm/pid/12386

The How Do You Know? program elements include the How Do You Know? Video Series and the Electrical Safety Self-Assessment tool.

The video series features short videos that reinforce the importance of electrical safety programs and compliance with standards and regulations, while demonstrating how safe electrical practices are vital to the entire workplace. The videos in the series include:

-- How Do You Know?, an introduction to the problem of occupational electrical injuries and fatalities.

-- What Does Electrical Safety Mean to You? explains the roles of OSHA and NFPA70E

-- Perspectives on Electrical Safety, these three videos provide perspectives on electrical safety from the viewpoints of a manager, a safety professional and an employee.

-- This is How You Know, introduces the free online Electrical Safety Self-Assessment tool.

The Electrical Safety Self-Assessment tool is a resource to help safety professionals review and analyze their company's electrical safety practices related to facilities, personnel, and procedures. The free online safety tool guides users through a series of questions that will help identify areas that may require further examination or improvement to ensure employee safety.
