TOP 10 OSHA Citations in the Healthcare Industry

An article in the Western Pennsylvania Hospital News provides a list of the top ten OSHA citations issued to hospitals and medical centers, and a second list of the top ten OSHA citations issued to doctor's offices and clinics.

The list for doctor's offices included:
- Failure to implement and maintain an exposure control plan under the BBP standard
- Failure to engineer out hazards/ensure handwashing under BBP standard
- Poor housekeeping under the BBP standard
- Failure to use personal protective equipment under the BBP standard
- Failure to train employees under the hazard communication standard

"BBP" is the acronym for "bloodborne pathogens."
