Top Ten OSHA Standards Violated In 2012

A list of the most frequently cited OSHA standards for 2011 is shown to the left. The preliminary 2012 list is below.  The top three remain the same with just a reshuffling of the order, and overall the top ten includes basically a re-ordering of the same standards as last year.

OSHA’s Fall Protection Standard was the most frequently cited standard in fiscal year 2012. The preliminary Top 10 most frequently cited OSHA standards in 2012 are:
  1. Fall Protection (1926.501) – 7,250
  2. Hazard Communication (1910.1200) – 4,696
  3. Scaffolds (1926.451) – 3,814
  4. Respiratory Protection (1910.134) – 2,371
  5. Ladders (1926.1053) – 2,310
  6. Machinery and Machine Guarding (1910.212) – 2,097
  7. Powered Industrial Trucks (1910.178) – 1,993
  8. Electrical – Wiring Methods (1910.305) – 1,744
  9. Lockout/Tagout (1910.147) – 1,572
  10. Electrical – General Requirements (1910.303) – 1,332
