Contesting OSHA Willful Violations Pays Off

Attorney Shannon O. Young wrote in a blog post about "Why Employers Might Want to Contest 'Willful' OSHA Citations." In Dayton Tire v. Secretary of Labor the court ruled that Dayton Tire had made some effort toward abating the hazards, thus the new violations are not willful. As a result the proposed $1.975 million fine was reduced to $197,500.
