Bricklayers Exposed to 30' Fall Hazards


Light week for major citations… just one last week:

Masonry Contractor Slapped with Major Fines for Fall Hazards

Philadelphia, $100,560 in fines – Upon arriving at the T and S Masonry LLC work sites, OSHA inspectors observed workers on scaffolds conducting bricklaying activities without fall protection. Workers also were exposed to other scaffolding safety hazards and were not trained properly. The company was previously cited for this in 2012 and 2014. 

Inspectors also cited the company for five serious violations, with $17,400 in penalties, for lack of a safety and health program and hazards, including the use of corrosive cement without providing proper personal protective equipment.  >> Read more
